What are the Commission Aims?

*Promote the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

*Foster interracial harmony

*Promote nonviolent conflict resolution

*Support American ideals of peace and justice for all, regardless of race or religion

 

What are the Commission Goals?

*Provide an excellent Community Celebration for The Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday

*Sponsor a community program for adults that meet the Commission aims of interracial harmony, positive use of nonviolence, and American ideas for all citizens

*Support a Youth Program that gives young people opportunities to explore the depth of Dr. King's teachings, the realities of interracial harmony, the practicality of nonviolent conflict resolution, and the value of American ideas for all

The Commission Officer's shall consist of a Chairperson, Vice-Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer. The Commission members shall serve without compensation
