Serena Draper Hendershot is the current Outreach Director of The Martin Center, the community focused organization run by 3rd Street Community Church. The church’s vision is to see families and neighborhoods gathered together, united by Christ, dedicated to family renewal, all for a Christ-centered restored city. She began her role in January 2020 where she is responsible for bringing equitable resources within the fields of education, health and housing by implementing community development plans with other like-minded organizations. Her efforts and partnerships include Habitat for Humanity for the Hope ReStored initiative which is closing the gap of furniture scarcity within homes, Bold and Bright Events in conjunction with Akron-Canton Foodbank served over 100 families during two community cookouts; bringing awareness and unity during these trying times. Lastly, she worked alongside of other young leaders to educate and drive the push for racial justice advocacy and reconciliation within numerous sectors of Stark County. Serena continues to be an innovative self-starter, organizational leader and avid advocate for racial justice and equity.

Serena is a Stark County native and graduate from Walsh University. She served 6 years in the Ohio Army National Guard as a Human Resource Specialist.
