Regina’s Winter Drive has provided warm blankets, socks, hats and gloves to over 1500 men, women, and children in need since its start in 2017. While watching the news in 2017 and seeing a report about the homeless and the approaching winter, the then 90 year old, Regina Bess asked, “How can we help to keep them warm?” This was the beginning of Regina’s Winter Drive. For her birthday that year, between her daughters, Carole, Marguerite and Lydia, friends, family and community partners, approximately 30 blankets were donated to men and women shelters around Canton. Her sweet story made it to the papers and Cleveland television news! The following year, for her 91st birthday, Regina requested that a new campaign be started to collect socks, gloves and hats. For more information on how you can help, visit them online at reginaswinterdrive.org. CONGRATULATIONS!
